Music and art are not extras at DeMatha; they are timetabled subjects and they run right through the school year. Art and Craft is taught from the Pre-Primary years upward, music is led by a teacher holding a B.Music alongside her M.A. and D.El.Ed., and the calendar is built around performance — an Art Fest in August, Fancy Dress in November, Christmas in December, and the Annual Day Celebration each January.

In many schools the arts become the preserve of the few children who are obviously talented. At DeMatha the aim is the opposite — that every child sings, draws, dresses up and stands in front of an audience at least once a year. A shy child from a village near Rangia who has held a microphone and been applauded carries that forward into everything else. That is the point of it.
Visit the campus at Tulsibari, meet the teachers, and walk through the school before you decide. Admissions are open for LKG to Class VIII.
