A Word from Our Principal

Principal's Message

Dear Parents, Students, and Friends of DeMatha — it is with deep gratitude and genuine joy that I welcome you to DeMatha English Medium School. When the Muktidhan Trust and our Trinitarian family established this school on February 14, 2019, in Tulsibari, Rangia, we made a solemn promise to the children and families of this community: that they would receive a quality education grounded in excellence, faith, and the deep conviction that every human being deserves to flourish. This promise is one we renew every single day — in every classroom, in every interaction between a teacher and a student, and in every decision we make as an institution.

Education is not merely the transfer of knowledge from teacher to student. It is the awakening of the whole person — mind, heart, conscience, and character. At DeMatha, we educate children to be free: free to think critically, free to ask questions, free to dream with discipline, and free to serve with compassion.
— Rev. Dr. Binoj Mathew O.SS.T., Principal

Our motto — Educate to Liberate — is not a slogan painted on a wall. It is the daily lived conviction that drives our teachers into their classrooms with energy and purpose, that shapes how we design our curriculum, and that defines what we mean when we say we want every DeMatha student to succeed. We believe success is not only a mark sheet — it is a young person who is confident, compassionate, curious, and committed to the greater good. It is a child who has learned that they are capable of more than they imagined, and who carries that knowledge forward into everything they do.

I invite every family in Tulsibari, Rangia, and the surrounding communities to come and see DeMatha for yourself. Meet our teachers. Walk our campus. See the joy and focus in our students' faces. I am convinced that when you do, you will understand why we believe — with every conviction — that the best is yet to come for this school, for this community, and for every child whose story has begun at DeMatha. Our doors are always open, and our hearts even more so.

The Principal's Vision

What I Believe for DeMatha

Three convictions that shape every decision Rev. Dr. Binoj Mathew makes as Principal of DeMatha English Medium School.

01
Every Child Can Succeed
I believe without reservation that every child who walks through our doors is capable of extraordinary things — not some children, not the academically gifted ones, but every single child. Our teachers are here to find and release that potential, whatever it takes and however long it requires. No child is left behind at DeMatha — not on our watch.
02
Quality Belongs to Every Child
Quality education is not a privilege for the few — it is a fundamental right for every child, including and especially children in rural Assam. I am committed to ensuring that DeMatha delivers the same standard of CBSE academic rigour, the same quality of teaching, and the same breadth of co-curricular opportunity that any child in any city in India would receive. Geography must not be destiny.
03
Partnership with Every Family
A school does not educate a child alone — it educates in partnership with parents, with families, with the community. I am committed to maintaining a school that is genuinely open to every family — where parents are heard, respected, and treated as essential partners in their child's education. Together, we build something none of us could build alone: a generation of liberated, capable, compassionate young people.
